Operation Hadarin Daji Troops Rescue Abducted Victims in Sokoto State
Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji have successfully rescued 16 Almajiris and a woman who were abducted in Gada Local Government Area of Sokoto State during a terrorist invasion on March 9, 2024.
According to a statement released by the Defence Headquarters on Saturday, the coordinated efforts of the military, local authorities, and government agencies led to the liberation of the hostages. The rescued victims have since been handed over to the Sokoto State Government for further action.
The Director of Media Operations, Maj. Gen Buba Edward, highlighted the commitment of the armed forces to locate and rescue kidnapped victims across the country. He assured that the military would not relent until all perpetrators of such crimes, including terrorists and other non-state actors, are apprehended and brought to justice.
In addition to the rescue operation in Sokoto State, Edward emphasized that the military is actively pursuing those responsible for the killing of 18 soldiers in Okuama Community, Delta State, on March 14, 2024. He announced plans to deploy banners of wanted persons in strategic locations to facilitate their identification and arrest.
Edward urged the public to cooperate with security forces by providing relevant information that could aid in the arrest of wanted individuals, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in combating insecurity nationwide.
